From eGov to Artificial Intelligence: Cambodia Explores Kazakhstan’s Digital Government Experience

How can public services be transformed into convenient digital solutions? How can data be leveraged for decision-making, and artificial intelligence integrated into government operations? Kazakhstani experts shared their answers to these questions with a delegation from Cambodia as part of the international educational programme “Digitalization of Public Service Delivery in Kazakhstan”, held in Astana from September 1 to September 4.

Over the course of four days, participants explored Kazakhstan’s digital government model, from the core e-government infrastructure to advanced artificial intelligence solutions.

One of the key components of the programme was a training course delivered by National Information Technologies JSC (NITEC). The Company’s experts conducted a series of training sessions for the Cambodian delegation covering the digital infrastructure of the eGov.kz portal, the eGov Mobile application, the Smart Data Ukimet platform, and the practical application of AI in the public sector.

Particular attention was given to the development of digital public services and the ways in which technological solutions can transform interactions between citizens and the government, making them faster, more convenient and more efficient. As part of the visit, the delegation also visited Alem AI, where participants learned about cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence and its potential applications. The programme concluded with a practical workshop, giving participants an opportunity to discuss approaches to digital transformation and apply the knowledge they had acquired in practice.

"We are pleased to see that Kazakhstan’s digital solutions and advances in GovTech are attracting interest from our international colleagues. For NITEC, it is important not only to share the expertise we have accumulated, but also to maintain an open professional dialogue with international partners. Programmes like this provide an opportunity to showcase our solutions, exchange expertise, receive valuable feedback and adopt international best practices to further develop and improve digital public services", said Daulet Bekmanov, Chairman of the Board, National Information Technologies JSC.

The "Digitalization of Public Service Delivery in Kazakhstan" programme marked another milestone in NITEC’s international cooperation and another step towards promoting Kazakhstan’s expertise in GovTech, digital public services and artificial intelligence internationally.
