National Supercomputer
JSC "National Information Technologies" (NIT), with the support of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has implemented a large-scale project to create a supercomputer. Its high-performance computing infrastructure is based on HPE Cray XD670 servers equipped with NVIDIA H200 GPUs (496 units). The project was carried out in accordance with the directive of the Head of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The launch and installation of the supercomputer were carried out in a Tier III reliability level data center to ensure uninterrupted and stable operation. Its commissioning is also an important step in implementing the President’s Address to create a national digital infrastructure and develop a national AI ecosystem. The initiative is aimed not at a narrow circle of specialists, but at developing the country’s entire digital ecosystem. Such computing capacities are used today in all fields, including healthcare, energy, education, and public services.
Importantly, the resources of the supercomputer will be accessible to everyone. Startups that require resources for training neural networks, universities conducting fundamental and applied research, and research centers and companies implementing AI in business processes will be able to use it.
The project is an important element in the practical implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Development Concept until 2029 and one of the key stages in forming Kazakhstan’s modern IT infrastructure.
The creation of the supercomputer aims to achieve the following goals

Artificial Intelligence Development
Providing the necessary infrastructure for the development and implementation of AI solutions across various economic sectors.

Big Data Processing
Providing resources for analyzing and processing anonymized data from governmental and commercial organizations.

Scientific Research Support
Creating conditions for conducting high-tech research in science and education.

Digital Sovereignty Development
Ensuring independence in data processing and storage within the country.
