Digital documents can be used in Otbasy Bank branches

Using the Digital Documents service in the eGov mobile app, Otbasy Bank JSC customers can now get services using a digital ID document.

A digital document is a prototype of an original copy of an ID document.

"Digital documents can already be used in many fields across the country, but it is crucial that companies make relevant integrations and purchase the appropriate equipment so that their customers can use the services in a convenient way. Realizing the importance of saving time for their customers, Otbasy Bank has made the necessary digital integrations so that their customers could use digital documents on smartphones when drawing up necessary documents. We are glad to be at the dawn of shaping the future by improving and facilitating many processes both for citizens and businesses" said Rostislav Konyashkin, Chairman of the Board, National Information Technologies JSC.

When opening deposits, Otbasy Bank customers will be able to use such digital documents as a digital national ID and a digital birth certificate. Shortly, it will be possible to use digital national ID for credit, post-credit and post-deposit transactions.

"Two million Kazakhstani citizens are saving up for their housing in Otbasy Bank. This year alone, 480 thousand citizens have opened new deposit accounts. In cooperation with our colleagues from National Information Technologies JSC, we develop convenient services for those who apply to our branches. Now citizens can use a digital national ID. The option is very convenient in cases, when a customer forgot the document at home, for instance. We will provide a service anyway" marked Lyazzat Ibragimova, Chairman of the Board, Otbasy Bank JSC.

Since the launch of the service, more than 1.200 people have already obtained Otbasy Bank JSC services by using digital documents available at the e-Gov mobile app (eGov mobile).

To use the new service, one needs to:

- sign in to the eGov mobile app;

- select "Digital Documents" in the "Services" section;

- select a document to grant access to;

- click "Open Access" button;

- provide a six-digit short code displayed on a smartphone screen to a bank manager. The code is generated automatically and is never repeated.

A bank manager enters a unique short code into the database, and the system automatically downloads a customer's ID document.

This customer identification mechanism ensures high security and prevents possible fraud by third parties.

It should be reminded that the Digital Documents service available at the eGov mobile app contains 18 documents, the most popular of which are: national ID, driving license, vaccination passport, PCR test and birth certificate.

To date, digital documents can be used at the airports in Nur-Sultan, Aktobe, Almaty, Shymkent, Aktau, Atyrau, Turkestan, Taraz, etc., when boarding a train at KTZ JSC railway stations, as well as when obtaining services at banks and notary publics.

Application of digital documents became possible thanks to the integration of information systems of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Information Technologies JSC and Otbasy Bank JSC.

For reference:

A digital document is an electronic document generated by a digital document service and is necessary to get public services and other services online, as well as when interacting with individuals and legal entities. The Digital Documents service allows using an electronic version of an original copy of ID document, which enables citizens providing a digital document to government agencies and organizations to get any services (for instance, when buying air and railway tickets, etc.).
