Online vehicle registration on eGov.kz and eGov Mobile: new opportunities for vehicle owners
The eGov.kz portal and the eGov Mobile app now provide access to online vehicle registration services. Users can register vehicles purchased from authorized dealers, replace registration certificates and license plates without changing ownership, and complete sale and purchase transactions when ownership is transferred – all entirely online.
Initial registration of vehicles purchased from authorized dealers
Initial registration of a vehicle manufactured in Kazakhstan can now be completed online. Today, the public service is already available at more than 100 major dealership centers across the country, including Aster Auto LLP, Terra Motors Astana LLP, Allur Motor Qazaqstan LLP, Hyundai Auto Almaty LLP, Mycar Astana LLP, and others. At the same time, the list of dealerships offering online registration continues to expand as they connect to the public integration service.
To get the service, the buyer must select a vehicle at the dealership and conclude a sale and purchase agreement. The remaining procedures are handled entirely online, eliminating the need for a second visit to the dealership.
After the dealer submits the application, the buyer receives a notification in their eGov.kz account or a push notification in the eGov Mobile app. The user verifies the information, selects available license plate numbers, and signs the application using one of the provided methods. This means that the key stages of the registration process are handled entirely online. To enhance user convenience, the list of available license plate number options has been expanded. Service delivery term is up to 2 hours.
The finalized documents and license plates are to be collected at the selected Specialized Citizen Service Center.
Replacement of the vehicle registration certificate and license plates
At the beginning of 2026, an online service for selecting state registration license plates was launched and quickly gained popularity among vehicle owners.
The service for replacing a vehicle registration certificate and license plates without changing ownership is now available online. Upon submission of the application, the system automatically verifies whether the vehicle has any outstanding fines or legal restrictions. The service is delivered within one hour.
Online processing is not available if there are any restrictions, including cases where the vehicle is pledged as collateral or subject to other limiting factors. In such cases, registration actions are carried out upon personal visit to a Specialized Citizen Service Center.
Vehicle sale and purchase between private individuals
The eGov.kz portal and the eGov Mobile app also enable private individuals to complete vehicle sale and purchase transactions online.
Previously, this mechanism was primarily available through individual banking services for clients of specific financial institutions. The service has now been integrated at the government level, providing a seamless and unified digital transaction process.
"Earlier, thanks to Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan we successfully introduced online vehicle sale and purchase services between private individuals via the mobile apps of major banks. Digital services now cover the entire registration process – from purchasing a new vehicle at a dealership to transactions between private individuals, including clients of different banks, as well as the replacement of registration certificates and license plates. Starting in April, this will significantly reduce the need for visits to Specialized Citizen Service Centers”, said Rostislav Konyashkin, First Vice Minister of AI and Digital Development of Kazakhstan.
The continued development of online vehicle registration services seeks to simplify the procedures for citizens and businesses, reduce the need for in-person visits, and improve the transparency of registration activities.
The services were implemented thanks to the joint cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Public Services Committee of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and National Information Technologies JSC.
