Public service for the assignment or extension of the status of Kandas is available on eGovkz

Ethnic Kazakhs who previously lived and entered the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan can apply for the assignment of kandas status or its extension on the eGov.kz portal

Now, a user can order the service online both for oneself and for family members on the eGov.kz portal. The service is delivered to individuals on a free-of-charge basis. Mandatory requirements for users include availability of IIN and digital signature.

It should be noted that the updates were implemented under the framework of the Presidential Decree on the De-Bureaucratization, the importance of which lies in digital transformation and system re-engineering of all the spheres of public administration.

"We are actively working to transfer the public services to an online format. I want to highlight that previously this service was delivered offline through CSCs and local executive bodies. Now there is no need to visit the CSCs and you can get the service online through the e-government portal eGov.kz. Realizing the importance of this status for citizens, we facilitated the service delivery process" said Rostislav Konyashkin, Chairman of the Board, National Information Technologies JSC.

On the e-Gov Portal (eGov.kz) a user selects the service called "Assignment/extension of kandas status". Based on the selected service type, verification will be carried out through the information system of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan to get a user status.

One needs to fill in all the required fields and attach the requested documents (files should be in pdf or jpg format).

Also, when submitting an application, a user can indicate family members to whom a kandas status needs to be assigned or extended. The number of family members who can be added is unlimited. Next, you need to sign an application using one of the available signing options.

The public service delivery result is a certificate of kandas/a decision of the local executive body to extend the kandas status, or a substantiated refusal to deliver the public service which is sent to a user's personal account in the form of an electronic document. The public service delivery term is 4 working days.
