Tele2/Altel operator will use the capacities of the national supercomputer to develop its own AI solutions

The Tele2/Altel company plans to lease the computing power of the Alem.cloud supercomputer cluster to further develop its proprietary AI solutions. An agreement to launch the project was signed between National Information Technologies JSC (NITEC) and Tele2/Altel on the sidelines of the Digital Bridge 2025 forum on October 2, 2025.

The Alem.cloud supercomputer cluster is located within the data center of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The technical maintenance of the data center and the development of the supercomputer cluster’s infrastructure are managed by NITEC.

«The technical and engineering team of NITEC is dedicated to the daily maintenance and continuous development of the national AI cluster’s infrastructure. The launch of this project represents a pivotal milestone in bringing cutting-edge technologies into the everyday lives of Kazakhstani citizens. We are ready to collaborate not only with businesses and startups, but also with the scientific community and educational organizations. Our goal along this path is to create all the necessary conditions for the further integration of digital technologies into the key sectors of the country’s economy and science,» noted Daulet Bekmanov, Chairman of the Board, National Information Technologies JSC.

The cluster was officially launched in July 2025, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. As previously anticipated, startups engaged in the development of neural network solutions, universities, research centers, and both public and private companies will be granted access to the high-performance computing resources of the supercomputer.

«The strategic cooperation agreement with NITEC enables us to leverage modern GPU servers for AI and high-performance computing solutions. This partnership gives us access to world-class infrastructure, which will accelerate the development and implementation of AI solutions. These include, for instance, models for speech and image processing, recommendation systems, big data analytics, customer service automation, cybersecurity solutions, the development of HPC competencies, and other AI-driven products,» highlighted Alexander Babichev, CEO of Tele2/Altel.
