Training the IT professionals discussed at round table

Last Friday in Astana, the Round Table was held, where training the IT professionals was discussed. The event hosted by National Information Technologies JSC was attended by vice-rectors and deans of Kazakhstan’s lead universities. The Round Table participants discussed the issues related to mutual cooperation and to IT professionals training and employment process.

Nowadays, the education institutions lag behind the rapidly evolving ITs. Meanwhile, the industrial sector needs high-skilled human resources. To address this problem, employers must participate in the students training processes providing them with the opportunity of acquiring practical skills and the professional development direction. It is also important to explain the Startup principles, so that upon completing the training, a student had the experience in running Startup projects of his/her own.

Dzhamalbek Tussupov, Professor of Eurasian National L.Gumilyov University, said that to bridge the gap between training in universities and the IT market requirements, it is necessary that the academic departments open their branches on site in national IT companies and send their teachers to training. Besides, according to the deans, employers themselves can organize visiting lectures to students; provide technical platforms for practical classes and involve students in the projects. This will contribute to educational programs’ fitting the times.

“First and foremost, National Information Technologies JSC actively cooperates with local universities to create promising workforce capacity. Our company is interested in training high-skilled professionals in this sector and is willing to cooperate and interact as to the related issues”, Alexey Anissimov added.

It should be noted that National Information Technologies JSC pays much attention to activities with students. To date, 6 memorandums have been concluded and over 165 students have undergone internship in the company.
