National Information Technologies JSC informs that an additional verification step has been introduced in the pki.gov.kz personal account during the re-issuance of digital signature keys.

The additional verification during key re-issuance is performed using two methods:

• Using SMS verification – by entering a one-time code sent to the mobile phone number registered in the Mobile Citizens Database of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• By entering the code from the digital document in the eGov Mobile application.

It should be noted that this mechanism does not apply to non-residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan due to the absence of a registered phone number in the Mobile Citizens Database of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The measure has been adopted to enhance security, protect users from unauthorized use of their digital signature keys, and make the re-issuance process more reliable.
