Website of the electronic vehicle passport system updated

To enhance transparency and improve user convenience, the external website of the Electronic Vehicle Passport System (EVPS) has been updated. The website now features a new online service that allows users to check the status of the EVPS.
This service allows vehicle owners to quickly verify the validity of their electronic passport. If the 'active' status is not assigned due to errors, the system will automatically display the reason and provide recommendations for resolving the issue. The service covers electronic passports issued in Kazakhstan, as well as in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
Additionally, the updated website is now more informative and easier to navigate. The website provides step-by-step instructions for individuals on how to obtain an EVPS in various situations: when purchasing a car in Kazakhstan, importing a vehicle from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries, or importing from non-EAEU countries.
For legal entities that will interact directly with the system, the website provides detailed information on connecting to the EVPS, including the contract procedure, a list of required documents, and interaction requirements. A dedicated section provides all current regulations and legislative documents governing the registration and use of electronic passports. Additionally, users can access the FAQ section, which explains key aspects of working with the EVPS, and find complete contact information, including channels to reach technical support.
What is EVPS?
An electronic vehicle passport is a digital document that contains complete information about a vehicle, including its technical specifications, import and registration history, and disposal details. Since January 1, 2025, EVPS availability has been a prerequisite for the initial registration of all vehicles imported into Kazakhstan. This requirement is set out in the Vehicle Registration Rules.
The EVPS operates not only in Kazakhstan but also in other Eurasian Economic Union countries, including Russia and Belarus. Its implementation has simplified the registration process, eliminated the risks of forgery and errors, and ensured reliable information exchange between countries.
How does the system work?
In Kazakhstan, the national operator of the EVPS is NITEC JSC, which supports the operation of the information system, develops its functionality, and ensures stable integration with government databases.
The data for the EVPS comes from various government sources, including the Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee, the State Revenue Committee, Zhasyl Damu JSC, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and others. This enables the creation of a complete digital profile for each vehicle.
If the passport lacks information, it is recommended to contact the relevant organization directly. If the user does not have information about customs clearance, they should address the question to the State Revenue Committee. The Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee is responsible for providing information on vehicle structure safety. If the EVPS does not display data on the disposal fee, contact Zhasyl Damu JSC.
NITEC JSC ensures the smooth operation of the platform and continuously improves its services to make the design and use of the EVPS as convenient and user-friendly as possible.
